According to a video, recently showcased by Nokia, it becomes clear that it has, indeed developed on the concept of indoor navigation. Nokia had first mentioned an amateur version of this concept, last year at Nokia World, London.
Can track your moves!
This ‘satellite–like’ system can, up to 30cm, accurately detect the position of the subject, albeit indoors. The tracking device, if placed on the ceiling, supposedly renders accurate, real-time positions of the subject, limiting to the distance of 30cm. If you’re among the kinds that lose track of people, things, quite usually, Nokia’s indoor positioning tracker can come handy. The tracker can be placed on objects, people, just about anything to get their location known.
One of the highlights of this concept is the non-requirement of GPS facilities to use it. Although, the vagaries of GPS are known to us i.e. owing to its dependence on radio signals, its accuracy gets questionable.
The Nokia website does mention a video depicting the same, but, we’re not sure if that should be taken as the final word! Till then, check Nokia’s positioning plans in this video here:
