Nokia's Ovi Store Gets an Update for Symbian^3 and S60 Smartphones

Nokia’s in the news and it’s for all the right reasons. Yesterday, they launched the X3-02 and C3-01 smartphones and a few hours back we heard about their X1-00. Nokia has rolled an update for the Ovi Store, coming out with v2.06.00042 for Symbian^3 handsets and v1.9.008 for S60 3rd Edition and 5th Edition phones.

Update your Ovi Store

The purpose for the update is aimed at making your Symbian^3 and S60 handsets compatible with the “architecture changes” at Nokia’s end and at the same time fillip the performance of the Ovi Store. The improvements include a better search where, once a user enters a title, the top slot will directly reflect what has been entered which is in terms of the title rather than descriptions. Users can also log in through their email id so you won’t have to remember a particular user id for the Ovi Store specifically.

In addition to all of that, the Ovi Store website does not need you to select a device when you’re browsing through the store to search for apps. For the users who want to update their Ovi Store, they just need to start their current Ovi Store client and will be prompted to download the update.
