Nokia UK to give away a Manchester United special edition Lumia 920 on Twitter

One of the greatest ever football managers, Sir Alex Ferguson has bid goodbye to active sports with his retirement. In a move that surprised many, Sir Fergie decided to hang his boots up after nearly 27 years of being manager for Manchester United. Nokia has decided to capitalise on the occasion and is giving away a Lumia 920 to a lucky fan on Twitter.

Understandably, the Lumia 920 is shiny red to commemorate the departure of the Red Devils’ manager. The special edition phone is engraved with the words, “Sir Alexander Chapman Ferguson. Manchester United Manager, 1986-2013. Good luck Sir Alex".

Sir Ferguson has been with the club for nearly 27 years and has guided the team through 38 trophies, which include two Champions League titles, 13 Premier League ones and five FA cups. His departure came as a bit of a shock to die-hard fans and Twitter is talking about this topic since the announcement this week.

To capitalise on this, Nokia UK has come up with this personalised Lumia 920 to bid him goodbye. The company tweeted pictures of the phone from the Nokia UK account. Getting the phone is fairly simple, but then, the competition is greater. You need to retweet this particular tweet that reads, “RT & follow for a chance to get your hands on this exclusive, title winning Lumia 920 to celebrate Sir Alex's career!” in order to stand a chance to win it.

Twitter has not stopped buzzing about Sir Fergie’s departure and the appointment of his heir apparent, Everton Manager David Moyes since the past week and Nokia’s Manchester United Lumia 920 could not have come at a better time. The tweet has been RT’d 2,403 times already at the time of writing this bit. You can head over to Nokia UK’s Twitter account here and RT the tweet to stand a chance to win. Meanwhile, we would like to bid a hearty goodbye to Sir Ferguson ourselves!
