MWC 2011: LG Announces Optimus 3D, Black and 2X

If you’re not surprised at the smartphones mentioned in the headlines, then that’s because we’ve already told you about them. From LG Optimus 3D to the Optimus 2X, we also read about the Optimus Black and Revolution. From all these smartphones, one thing is clear; LG is pretty “Optimus”tic about their future in the market.

Anyway, there’s news now that LG has officially unveiled all these smartphones. Without further delay, let’s look at all their specs.

Optimus 2X
The Optimus 2X is powered by a dual-core 1 GHz ARM processor and graphics acceleration provided by an ultra low power (ULP) GeForce GPU. The handset runs on Android 2.2 Froyo (upgradable to 2.3 Gingerbread), features an Accelerometer, Gyro Sensor and Proximity Sensor and has the following specs:

  • 4-inch Capacitive Touchscreen with 480 x 800 resolution
  • Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, DLNA, 3G, A-GPS
  • Bluetooth 2.1 with A2DP
  • 8 Megapixel camera with autofocus and LED flash
  • 1.3 Megapixel secondary camera
  • 8 GB memory expandable up to 32 GB
  • Stereo FM Radio
  • HDMI Port

Twice the optimum

Optimus Black
Unlike the Optimus 2X, Black is powered by a single core 1 GHz TI OMAP processor but still runs Android 2.2 Froyo (upgradable to Gingerbread) with Optimus UI 2.0 running on top. Optimus Black also features an Accelerometer and a Proximity Sensor, plus the following specs:

  • 4-inch Capacitive Touchscreen with 480 x 800 resolution
  • Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Wi-Fi Direct, 3G, A-GPS
  • Bluetooth 2.1 with A2DP
  • 5 Megapixel camera with autofocus and LED flash
  • 2 Megapixel secondary camera
  • 512 MB RAM, with memory expandable to 32 GB
  • 3.5 mm audio jack

Back in Black

Optimus 3D
Finally, all 3D fans can get a detailed overview of the Optimus 3D. This one is powered by a Dual-core 1 GHz ARM Cortex-A9 processor and gets a graphical boost from the GeForce GPU. Let’s take a look under the hood of the Optimus 3D:

  • 4.3-inch 3D LCD Capacitive Touchscreen with a 480 x 800 pixel resolution
  • Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, DLNA, A-GPS, 3G
  • Bluetooth 3.0 with A2DP, EDR
  • Dual 8 Megapixel camera with autofocus
  • Front facing camera
  • Memory expandable up to 32 GB
  • HDMI port
  • 3.5 mm audio jack

Stereoscopic vision

Apart from these, the Optimus 3D has run-of-the-mill features like Accelerometer, Gyro Sensor, Proximity Sensor and a Digital Compass.

Revolution with 4G

LG also showcased the Revolution which is their first 4G smartphone and is CDMA based.

Want them? So do we, but there’s no mention about launch dates or prices. Let’s hope these smartphones hit Indian shores ASAP.
