A while ago, we told you about ASUS announcing BIOS updates for their AMD AM3 motherboards which made them compatible with AM3+ processors, namely the Bulldozers aka FX-series processors. Now, MSI has joined in on the act.
Getting in on the act
MSI motherboard owners can download the latest BIOS for their motherboards on the respective product pages, and MSI have also said that any further releases will have the BIOS updated at the factory level. Anyway, you can check out the image below for a list of the currently compatible models.
Either way, it looks like AM3+ will be backwards compatible after all, despite what AMD said about it earlier. I didn’t know who to believe when ASUS released the BIOS updates, but seeing multiple manufacturers do it is a whole different story altogether.
