Mr Torgue's Campaign of Carnage DLC for Borderlands 2 released

Gearbox has released the newest DLC, titled Mr Torgue's Campaign of Carnage, for its role playing shooter - Borderlands 2. The company has released a trailer for the game that shows how truly insane Mr Torgue can be.

The trailer shows many of the new features making their way into the game. The game will feature new zones with new quests and revolves around a tournament that Mr Torgue is holding. The aim of the tournament seems to be to find the most badass person in all of Pandora. The game also features new weapons, and one major character from the first game is making her comeback - Mad Moxxi.

Gearbox had earlier confirmed the DLC through a tweet on a fake Twitter account for Mr Torgue. "Are you badass enough to survive 'Mister Torgue's Campaign of Carnage?" read the tweet. "I'm legit curious cause I dunno you that well." The account later added, "here's a picture of me throwin up the horns like a badass."

The price for the DLC has been confirmed by Gearbox to be the same as that of the previous DLC - Captain Scarlett and her Pirate's Booty. The DLC will cost 800 Microsoft Points or $9.99 (approximately Rs 546), depending on the platform you buy it on. The release date will be announced by Gearbox in a few days.

The information had been leaked last month because there were three trophies that had been added to the game for Mr. Torgue’s Campaign of Carnage which reveals the objective “Long Way to the Top”, some side missions, and a trophy for collecting hidden pictures of Moxxi – a character who had her own DLC for the first Borderlands.

Gearbox had confirmed the Captain Scarlett and her Pirate’s Booty DLC in October. "You can sense the pirate theme across the landscape, even though there's no water," said Gearbox Software president Randy Pitchford. "It's all dried up. It feels more like Tatooine than an ocean. These bandits have really embraced the pirate lifestyle, and there's the legend of a treasure. That kicks off this whole adventure that the players can go on."

Captain Scarlett and Her Pirate's Booty is the first major DLC released for Borderlands 2 and will be included in the Season Pass. The DLC by itself is costs $9.99 (around Rs 524), but players can also buy the Season Pass for the game, which includes all four planned major DLCs and costs $29.99 (Rs 1,574 approx).

Borderlands 2 is available in retail stores for Rs 999 for the PC version, and Rs 2,499 for the PlayStation 3 and the Xbox 360 versions. The PC version of the game is also available on Steam for $59.99 (around Rs 3,100). The DLCs for the game are available on Steam, Xbox Live and PlayStation Network.
