Mozilla Troubled: 12mn Users Still Using Firefox 3.5

Mozilla's latest Firefox 4 was an instant hit with more than 150 million downloads in a short span of time.

Not quite there...

Not quite there...

But Mozilla still isn't completed satisfied with these numbers because it still can't get a large chunk of its users off the older version Firefox 3.5.

As per figures posted by the popular browser, about 12 million users are still hooked onto the older versions of Firefox. Considering the large number of users that are still using the older versions of Firefox, the browser has several steps in its kitty, which it believes should do the trick. These steps include – placing pointers on the Google page that not only urge the old version users to upgrade their versions, but also provide them with appropriate links to do so. Generic methods like pop-ups and having the media do a little bit of ‘spread the word around’ are also being used. Mozilla, apparently is at the end of its rope with the constant patching procedures, and understandably so. Also, the threat levels will obviously be high in the older versions.
