Motorola’s tablet will officially be called XOOM, according to Droid Life. It shouldn’t be too surprising though, looking at the fact that they had registered “XOOM” trademarks a few days back. Either way, you're too late to notify Motorola that you don't like the name.
Thankfully, the tablet is confirmed to be running Android’s latest OS version, Gingerbread, but then that was something we already knew. It is also being said that Motorola XOOM won’t be 4G compliant.
Motorola’s XOOM had been shown-off at the Dive Into Mobile conference by Andy Rubin and has been catching a lot of eyeballs ever since. They certainly boasted of specs like Nvidia’s Tegra 2 processor and also ran Google 3D maps on it! Wait, wasn’t this the one that took a dig at the iPad and the Galaxy Tab? Now that’s a lot of talk and they better give us something we can gossip about in 2011.
