Microsoft Rolls Out First WP7 Update, albeit a Small One

While many have been waiting for Windows Phone 7 updates, especially after knowing the features it will offer, Microsoft is finally out with an update. But rephrasing what their blog said, don’t get too excited about it.

You really wanna call that an update?

Microsoft’s first Windows Phone 7 update is not an exciting one, as you won’t find any improved features or anything new added. All that it has to offer is that your future firmware updates will be a lot smoother, which really sounds good, but haven’t we been waiting for an update for ages now? Anyway, it might mean that any future updates - including the copy-paste and improved Marketplace search updates, should happen without glitches.

The blog also says that the update will be in phases, so it’s quite likely that your Windows Phone 7 smartphone will have to wait a bit longer. Also, you’ll need to connect to the Zune software for your PC or Windows Phone 7 Connector for Mac, so it’s not an OTA update.

To end with, if you have updated your smartphone, let us know if you did find any glitches in doing so. You can also tell us whether you have been waiting for this update for too long.
