Micromax Funbook 3G P560 shows up online for Rs 8,999

After the launch of the Micromax Funbook Talk P360, the company has now launched another 7-inch tablet that brings enhanced connectivity options.

The Micromax Funbook 3G P560 is available at one online retailer for Rs 8,999. The Funbook 3G is a single–SIM tablet, which brings 3G connectivity and is powered by a powerful Qualcomm 1GHz processor. The tablet runs Android 4.0.4 Ice Cream Sandwich, which is a bitter disappointment as most new tablets are launching with the Jelly Bean version of the OS.

On the back of the Funbook 3G is a 2-megapixel camera, which can shoot images up to 1600x1200 pixels in size. The camera comes with 4X digital zoom and better control over exposure, ISO etc in the settings. The in-built VOIP app will make use of the 0.3-megapixel front-facing camera for video calls and can also be used to click pictures with a resolution of 640x480 pixels.

The 7-inch capacitive display comes with 5-point multi touch and the resolution is expectedly WVGA. Besides the 3G support, the tablet will be able to hook up to Wi-Fi networks, while files can be transferred using the USB port and the Bluetooth radio.
The Funbook 3G comes with 4GB of internal storage with the option of expanding it up to 32GB with a microSD card.

Here are the key specifications of the Micromax Funbook 3G P560

  • 7-inch capacitive display with WVGA resolution
  • 3G, Wi-Fi with Wi-Fi hotspot
  • Bluetooth, GPS, USB port
  • 2-megapixel primary camera and 0.3-megapixel front-facing unit
  • 4GB of internal storage with microSD card slot for expansion up to 32GB

This tab has a 3000 mAh battery, which doesn’t seem a lot but should be enough given the low-res display and the processor configuration. In terms of specifications, the Funbook 3G P560 is not very different from the Funbook Talk P360, which was launched last week. The major difference is that the P360 comes with voice-calling ability and dual SIM slots. However, it can only surf and make calls on 2G network. In terms of processor, the Funbook Talk P360 is powered by a single-core Cortex A9 1.2GHz processor and has 1GB of RAM.
