Meizu announced the M5s in China today along with a tweet hinting at its high-power, fast charging capabilities.
The smartphone is powered by an Octa-core MediaTek MT6753 processor clocked at 1.3GHz while running on 3GB RAM. The M5s sports a 5.2-inch IPS HD display and will come in two storage variants, one with 16GB internal storage and the other with 32GB internal storage. The company has given the option to users to expand the storage using an expandable storage slot.
The smartphone will pack a 13MP camera sensor on the back with an f/2.2 aperture and a 5-element lens. The rear camera module will come with PDAF and dual-tone LED flash along with a 5MP camera sensor on the front. The most touted feature of the smartphone is its 3,000mAh battery, which will sport 'High-power fast charging' at 18 W current. Meizu is touting that the smartphone will come packed with their AI engine termed as 'One Mind'. It does not seem much at the time of writing but we will need to see if it can offer anything substantial in terms of functionality.
The smartphone will offer Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, VoLTE-enabled dual-SIM support in terms of connectivity options. M5s will come with a metal anodised and sandblasted body along with 2.5D curved glass on the front to give it a premium finish.
It will be available in Silver and Gold and Rose Gold colours, as reported by GSMArena. The smartphone will come with a "reliable mTouch" fingerprint scanner. The 16 GB internal storage variant will go on sale at 799 RMB (around Rs 7,800) while the 32GB internal storage will go on sale for 999 RMB (around Rs 9,800).
