At the recently held Spike VGA awards, EA and BioWare unveiled Mass Effect 3 via a neat CG trailer that showed Earth getting owned by the Geth. And of course if Commander Shepard didn’t intervene, there would presumably be no Earth left to talk about. Details are pretty scarce, but EA did let us know (via their official press release) that the game would release simultaneously for the Xbox360, PS3 and PC by December 2011.
Here’s what Dr. Ray Muzyka, Co-Founder of BioWare had to say on the announcement, "At BioWare, we are always driving ourselves to improve and I firmly believe our best work is still ahead of us. We could not be prouder of the team’s accomplishments with Mass Effect 2, and are excited and humbled by all of the recognition the game has received so far. We can’t wait to show you what the team is doing to make Mass Effect 3 an even bigger success."
And speaking of Mass Effect 2, it turns out that a demo for the PS3 version will be out by the 21st of December 2010. This should give you a taste of things to come before the PS3 version hits stores by the 18th of January 2010.
