Markdown editor Byword for Mac and iOS has received a major update that has added multiple new handy features to the application. Byword has also added the ability to publish directly to multiple blogging platforms.
The writing app has been designed to make writing an easier process in Markdown, following which you can preview your documents, export to HTML, PDF or rich text. The app on both Mac and iOS gives you an option to choose between light and dark themes and plenty of typefaces.
A neat little editor for iOS and Mac
The app has been pushed to version 2.0 on both the iOS and Mac in a major update. Using the app, you will now be able to scroll position on the Markdown preview and copy rich text to keyboard on Mac. Application Sandboxing will also be available on Byword.
On the iOS version of Byword, major emphasis has been laid on making the offline experience of using the app better. Your documents will now be downloaded automatically when you're connected to Wi-Fi so they're accessible offline. Support will be extended to Dropbox when you're offline, including options to rename, duplicate and delete.
Most importantly, the premium version of the app on both Mac and iOS now enable publishing to blogging platforms such as WordPress, Tumblr and Blogger. You will also be able to use this app on Evernote and Scriptogram. To use this feature, you will need to make a one-time in-app purchase for all your iOS devices. If you wish to use it on your Mac, you will have to make a one-time purchase for a premium upgrade.
As per the change-log, Byword currently only supports text-based posts, but Metaclassy, the company behind the app, is working to providing support for other media. You can purchase Byword for your iOS devices for Rs 170 and for your Macs for Rs 550 from the App Store.
