At the Worldwide Developers Conference in San Francisco, Apple proved that post Steve Jobs, the brand still managed to have a trick up its sleeve. After announcing an upgrade to their MacBook Air and MacBook Pro line-up of notebooks, Apple wowed the world when they unveiled their next generation MacBook Pro with Retina Display. These notebooks had been available in stores in the U.S. from the date of the announcement and those looking to upgrade to this high-res notebook in India will be pleased to know that they have finally made their way on to shelves in India with the base version starting at Rs. 1,52,900.
The price may come as shocker to most. as the price of the base version in the U.S starts at $2,199, which would roughly translate to Rs. 1,22,732. The Indian price is a steep jump in comparison to the U.S pricing and though the MacBook Pro with Retina Display is flying off the shelves in the said country, it is difficult to ascertain at this point if this hot selling notebook would achieve a similar response in India. The pricing of the product in India is around Rs. 30,000 more than what it is selling at the U.S. The reason that Apple is pricing these notebooks in India such could be due to the decline in the Rupee, in comparison to the Dollar and this may be the main reason why it costs more than a lakh and a half.
