In late October, a leaked image of a new handset from LG had surfaced. This may not be that exciting, since leaked images of LG smartphones pop up fairly often. However, the interesting bit here is that the handset in question is a LG Prada handset. The LG Prada KE850, the first model from LG’s collaboration with Prada may well have been the first touchscreen handset, even before the iconic Apple iPhone. The image of handset that was leaked in October is said to be called the LG Prada K2, but at the time nothing was official.
Third LG Prada handset coming by early 2012
The tide seems to have changed, albeit slightly, since LG recently announced that the two companies have renewed their exclusive mobile phone partnership and state that LG 3.0 will develop a Prada phone that will be launched by early 2012. The brand has also put up a teaser image of the upcoming handset. Speaking on the collaboration, Mr. Patrizio Bertelli, CEO of Prada Group said that the partnership between Prada and LG has always been characterised by an innovative approach and uncompromised quality of style, design and breakthrough technology. Also commenting on the partnership, LG’s President and CEO of Electronics Mobile Communications, Dr. Jong-seok Park said, “Our working relationship with Prada is unique in its longevity and success, something no other phone company and luxury brand have been able to replicate.”
As for details on the upcoming smartphone, no details were given, but as for now we at least have a timeframe as to when to expect this flagship handset from LG. Previous rumours suggest that the third handset will be really slim at just 8.8mm and will run on Android Gingerbread. Other purported specifications of the next LG Prada smartphone include a dual-core processor, 4.3-inch NOVA display, 8MP camera with 1080p video recording capabilities, 1.3MP front-facing camera and 16GB of onboard storage. As of now these are rumoured specifications and as soon as more information surfaces, we will certainly let you know.
