Jumping on the Touch-and-type QWERTY bandwagon is LG with their upcoming Optimus Pro smartphone. Apparently, it’s already being sold in Italy for €179 and should be heading to the rest of the world pretty soon. This will go on to compete with Samsung’s Galaxy Pro, which also falls in the similar price range.
Very nice form factor
We don’t know much about the detailed specifications just yet, but what we do know is that it packs a 2.8-inch QVGA screen and will run Android 2.3. It also has a 3MP camera in the back and will most likely not support HD video recording. We don’t have any details on the processing power, but we can safely assume it would be nothing less than 800MHz.
From the picture alone, the form factor is closer to a traditional candy-bar design instead of the square’ish look of the Galaxy Pro. The vertical positioning of the screen makes it more pocket friendly and may just tip the scales in LG's favor when it comes to making a buying decision.
