LG Optimus L3 now selling for Rs.7,899

The Optimus L series of smartphones were announced at the Mobile World Congress way back in February and now they’re available for purchase on a couple of online stores. Flipkart and Letsbuy are now selling the Optimus L3 E400 for a price tag of INR7,949 and INR7,899, respectively. The L3 will feature LG’s new L-style look as part of their new design changes. "Design is consistently the top or second most important factor for customers when choosing a mobile phone," said Dr. Jong-seok Park, President and CEO of LG Mobile Communications Company, while announcing the phone. "With smartphones, we sometimes took a more functional approach to design but with L-Style we're going back to our roots as a company focused on how our products fit into the lifestyle of our customers."

The other phones in the L series consist of the L5 and the L7, with the L5 being a mid ranger, while the L7 is their top of the line offering. With this pricing the Optimus L3 competes with the likes of the HTC Explorer, Galaxy Y and their own Optimus P690. There’s also the Spice Mi-350n, the Micromax A75 and the Wave Y. We were pretty impressed with the HTC Explorer, the Spice Mi-350n and the Bada running Wave Y. 384 MB of RAM, however may be a downer for some. The main competitor for the L3 could be the HTC Explorer, as it was one of the finer phones in the price segment, with both, specs and design.
