LG Optimus 2X Update to Improve Functionality

The Optimus One might be getting a Gingerbread update. At least that’s what we made out from the video, but LG is also looking to solve some problems with their flagship model, the Optimus 2X.

They updated their Facebook status, promising software updates for various issues that apparently, many Optimus 2X users are facing. Don’t be too happy because this is not any firmware upgrade to Gingerbread, rather these updates will iron out all small bugs and problems with the current software. Their Facebook update says that, “This month's updates will include improved multimedia player support such as reinforced video format and music/video player functions as well as a more stabilized patch to prevent rebooting/freezing that are occurring for some users. LG is working hard to maximize user experience as always.


It looks like LG intends give the users what they want with an update and bring a little smoother functioning to the Optimus 2X. Users had a few complaints about the Guinness Record holding Optimus 2X smartphone and LG has answered positively. They’ll have to do whatever it takes to keep their fans happy before Samsung unleashes their contender for best all around, hardcore smartphone, i.e. the Galaxy S II (read hands on here).


Just to give you a quick look at what to expect from the 1GHz dual-core NVIDIA Tegra 2 CPU toting Optimus 2X, here’s another quick look at the handset’s specs -

It’s available in India at a price of Rs. 30,000 (MRP).
