LG officially announces white Nexus 4; hitting stores this week

LG has officially announced a white version of the Nexus 4 smartphone after weeks of leaked images and hints. Last week, press images of the phone in a new colour leaked indicating that we would be seeing the version soon. And today’s press release officially confirms the white Nexus 4.

Starting in Hong Kong on May 29, Nexus 4 White (the name used in the press release) will roll out globally in select markets in Asia, North America, Europe and the Middle East over the next several weeks. Since the company recently launched the Nexus 4 in India, we can expect the white one to reach our shores soon.

White is right?

White is right?

There have already been reports on an XDA thread for Indian Nexus 4 users about a white version of the phone up for sale at local dealers in Delhi’s Lajpat Nagar Market and Naraina areas. Besides the differently-coloured back panel, there’s nothing different about this Nexus 4. The glass back and the rubberised material on the edges of the phone have been given the white treatment, but the front of the phone is all black to retain the seamless display look.

The white model has the same 4.7-inch 1280x768 True HD IPS Plus display (320ppi) featuring the Zerogap Touch technology, which brings icons and text closer to the finger. A powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro processor, clocked at 1.5GHz and 2GB of RAM deliver smooth performance. Most importantly, the Nexus 4 will receive software updates from Google as soon as they are ready for deployment.

Take part in the poll and tell us if the Nexus 4 looks great in white or is black still the best.
