LG has launched its new flagship smartphone, the G6, in India. LG G6 will be available on both online and offline channels starting 25 April for Rs 51,990 along with launch offers to pull in potential customers. LG has teamed up with Reliance Jio to offer 100 GB additional 4G data till March 2018. This is separate from the 10 GB extra data that users will get on every Rs 309 recharge. LG G6 will be available on Amazon India with a special Rs 10,000 cash back offer for users who will buy the smartphone on 25 April using HDFC or SBI cards.
LG India is offering Rs 5,000 cash back for the customers who use HDFC or SBI cards to purchase the smartphone on Amazon. LG G6 will be available in Black, White and Platinum colours with no difference in the price. The company is also offering an extra Rs 2,000 off as ‘Special Pre-Booking Offer’, along with 50 percent off on Tone Active+ HBS-A100 along with the G6.
Unveiled first at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, it is the successor to last year G5. However, this time the company has moved away from the modular design strategy. The main highlight of the smartphone is the display which stretches all over the front leaving really slim bezels. Called as FullVision display, it offers an 18:9 aspect ratio. The panel measures at 5.7-inch and offers a QuadHD+ resolution (2880 x 1440 pixels). According to LG, the focus was on providing a large display phone which is capable of being used one-handed. LG G6 will also be the first smartphone to support Dolby Vision. Apart from this, it will support HDR 10 as well.
Other features of the handset include a Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 chipset, which is the last generation flagship along with 4 GB RAM. In terms of storage, you get 64 GB onboard storage with the option to expand the storage using a microSD card. It runs on Android 7.1 Nougat along with the LG skin atop it called UX 6 and yes it will come with Google Assistant.
There is a dual-camera setup at the back with two 13 MP rear cameras, one of which has a wide angle lens where as the other one showing normal view. There is also a 5 MP front facing camera which has a 100-degree field of view for wide-angle selfies. The 13 MP regular rear camera comes with an f/1.8 aperture and supports optical image stabilisation, whereas the wide-angle 13 MP camera comes with an f/2.4 aperture without any image stabilisation.
A fingerprint scanner at the back, a 3,300 mAh battery and USB Type-C port with fast charge support rounds up the main features of the smartphone.
