Lenovo K8 Note and K8 Plus spotted on Geekbench ahead of launch; to drop custom Vibe UI

Lenovo India is expected to officially launch the K8 Note on 9 August, the specifications for which have already been leaked on benchmarking site Geekbench as per the latest report. The Lenovo K8 Note will be an Amazon exclusive, as confirmed by the company.

Based on the Geekbench listing the Lenovo K8 Note is powered by the Mediatek Helio X20 deca-core chipset dubbed MT6797 clocked at 1.85 GHz and will have 3 GB or 4 GB of RAM. On the graphics end, it comes with the Mali-T880 GPU.  The phone scored 1551 points on the single-core test and 4664 points on the multi-core test.

Another surprising finding from the Geekbench listing is the omission of Lenovo's custom Vibe UI which suggests that the company will offer a clean Android Nougat 7.1.1 experience.

On the other hand, another variant of the K8 dubbed as the Lenovo K8 Plus was also spotted on the benchmarking website. The K8 Plus was spotted scoring a single-core score of 861 points and a multi-core score of 3761. The Plus is seen powered by the MT6757CD Helio P25 octa-core processor, clocked at 1.69 GHz and 3 GB of RAM. However, there was no news yet regarding its launch. The Lenovo K8 Plus is also expected to run Android Nougat 7.1.1.

The Lenovo K8 Note is the successor to the K6 Note which launched in December 2016. The phone came with a 5.5-inch full HD (1080x1920 pixels) display, powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 chipset along with 3 GB and 4 GB of RAM and 32 GB of internal storage. The K6 Note also featured a 16 MP rear camera with LED flash and an 8 MP front camera.
