A rumour of a new Xiaomi brand is doing the rounds after a leaked picture appeared on the internet. The new brand will be the third to join the Xiaomi family after Redmi and Mi. If reports are to be believed then the new brand will be focusing on offline sales.
The Redmi and Mi series are mostly online based products. However, Xiaomi's close rivals Vivo and Oppo have shown a lot of success with offline sales. Both of them own thousands of retail outlets across China and have tapped in to the consumers' hearts and minds in the process. Xiaomi has also expressed their desire to capitalize on offline sales. This might mean that Xiaomi will be opening more Mi Home outlets across the country. The company might also be hiring a top celebrity as its ambassador for the new brand.
The newly leaked photo partially reveals the backside of the new Xiaomi brand showing a dual camera setup, much like its competitors OnePlus 5 and Oppo R11. The photo also reveals a dual-LED flash alongside volume rocker and a power button. Excluding the positioning of the flash the phone is somewhat similar to the iPhone 7 Plus. The antenna bands visible in the photo can also be seen running across just like in iPhone 7 and 7 Plus.
