The main reason why BlackBerry smartphones are very popular in countries like India, the Middle East and Africa is because they feature Research in Motion’s BlackBerry Messaging Service (BBM). A vast majority of the younger generation use this service to seamlessly communicate with their friends, colleagues and acquaintances. So, what does the brand do to build up on their hugely popular messaging client? Nothing but add a dedicated shortcut button on a device making it extremely convenient to access the BBM service. This is what Research in Motion have done and have incorporated a dedicated key on their upcoming BlackBerry Curve 9320 smartphone.
A dedicated BBM button on this upcoming handset
As per an image on the popular BlackBerry dedicated website, CrackBerry, it is clearly visible exactly where this key will be featured - the brand have positioned this shortcut key on the side of the handset. There is nothing much to write home about regarding the design of this button, except that it is curved and looks similar to the volume rockers found on older BlackBerry Curve smartphones.
This is not the first time the handset has made an appearance, though and it had been spotted once before in India during the start of the month. This handset will run BlackBerry OS 7.1, which features deeper BBM integration with respect to third party applications. Apart from this it will also have 3G capabilities.
Here is a quick look at what the upcoming BlackBerry 9320 may feature:
- BlackBerry OS 7.1
- 2.44-inch qVGA display with a resolution of 320 x 240
- 3.2MP camera with flash, Image stabilization and video recording capabilities
- EDOF camera

- MicroSD card support up to 32GB
