Steam is by far the best thing that’s happened to PC gaming till date and there’s no two ways about that. And now it’s slowly but surely making its way to other platforms namely the Mac, PS3 and now, if a certain Steam user is to be believed, iOS and Android platforms.
This tit bit of information comes straight from Valve head honcho, Gabe Newell’s mouth in a recent interview with Steam user Political Gamer who was lucky enough to spend the entire day at Valve (yeah we hate him).
Coming soon to a mobile near you?
Gabe obviously didn’t go into detail but it’s safe to assume that purchasing games on at least iOS platforms may not be possible thanks to the iTunes store. Besides looking into expanding Steam onto various platforms, Newell even announced a brand new video recording software for Steam called the Source Film Maker that should enter a public beta real soon.
