iPad: First User Reactions

The iPad is easily one of the most important launches of the year, and just like during the iPhone release, there was a huge line outside the Apple store for the iPad. Mini Camps filled with geeks who call themselves early adopters, and of course Macaholics were all there. It’s been about 2 days since these initial users got their paws on the shiny slab, and these were some interesting reactions we got off the wires, twitter and official fanpages. (Thanks to especially Macrumors.com for the info) Have a look, at the risk of encountering some cheesy fanboys but also some smart user tips.

First things first, this is what we were expecting anyways, but confirmed

“Why did I need to connect to iTunes initially to "activate" it?” –TomBall
“You must connect it to itunes before you can start playing with it.”
“…as far as how much charge it came with in the box, pretty close to 100% if not a full 100%. But it won't matter since you have to set it up in itunes before you can use it”
“Woo! Done syncing! time to play!!! by the way i synced over 12 gigs and it took less than an hour” --

And the love begins..

“ Just noticed that the screen will rotate while it is syncing. Screen rotation is almost instant. This accelerometer is blazingly fast so far.”--Kevein

“1. Super SUPER responsive
2. Deep rich colors
3. Very well built
4. Accelerometer seems more responsive than iphone (although might just be because of size? Aka, because it's bigger, i'm moving it slower, which makes reduces "delay"
5.Screen pixel density isn't as good as it could have been, you can easily see each pixel
6.Web browsing is ALMOST as fast as my desktop. REALLY like this.
OVERALL: I'm really happy with it, and will hopefully benefit greatly from multi-tasking in 4.0”

“Good: Not too heavy; the bezel seems smaller and much better looking than in pictures; the wife liked it (said it was "very pretty")
Bad: I can clearly distinguish the pixels on the display. It's easy to tell that this is much lower in resolution and ppi than the iPhone. We'll see how that works out over time.” --

“This is my first post from the iPad. Whoever's been complaining about typing on this keyboard must have giant hot dog fingers, because I'm flying on this thing.”-- Paulisme
