Instagram updated to work with HTC One X

One of the first apps we installed on the One X, the day we received it was Instagram and to our surprise, it didn’t work. Like any good developer worth their salt, the team have promptly released an update for Android devices that fixes this issue, along with a couple of other bug fixes. The app now works just fine on the One X so in case you were itching to create some fancy art, then go right ahead and update it. The update also brings better compatibility with Tegra 3 devices and tablets as well. The app is now at version 1.0.4 for Android and below is the quick changelog posted by the developers.

  • Bug fixes for tablet users
  • Location for photo geotag is updated more often
  • Fixed Instagram photos not appearing in gallery
  • Better support for Nvidia Tegra 3 handsets/tablets
  • Increased device support for Instagram built-in camera and filters, including the HTC One X

For those of you who do not know what Instagram is; it is a popular photo sharing application that was first launched in 2010. At the time of its inception, it was available only for iOS users and was mainly supported on iPhones or iPod Touches, but iPad users have used this version on their devices as well. Many Android users since, wanted a version of Instagram to be available on their handsets, too and the developers had stated that they would be making one for them as well. However, the development of this app for Android had taken quite long leading one to believe that it was not heading Android’s way after all. At SXSW, the founder of Instagram, Kevin Systrom announced that Instagram for Android is nearly ready and is currently in private beta testing. Finally after months of waiting, the app finally became available to Android users on the 3rd of April, 2012.
