Instagram introduces threaded comments in its latest update for organised conversations

Instagram is adding a much-needed update to its app — threaded comments. You can now respond to individual comments and keep a track of the conversations.

Before this update, you would only be able to respond to a comment in a more general manner and had to address the recipient if the comment was directed at him or her. With the comment threads, you can simply respond to a specific comment.

This small but significant feature has been present on Facebook for a while now and it was only a matter of time before it was transported to Instagram.

To start or participate in a thread, you will have to tap the 'Reply' button under individual messages. This should hopefully make conversations on Instagram posts a bit more organised.

Also, like Facebook, you will not be able to create a thread within a comment thread.

The update will start rolling out in Instagram version 24 on Android and iOS. Since the update is rolling out gradually, it will take some time for you to see the comment thread section on your Instagram account.

Recently, Instagram introduced Snapchat style face filters and rewind camera formats. Around eight face filters were added at the time of the introduction. The options include angelic wreath with god rays, koala ears and nose, geeky spectacles with floating equations, bunny ears, a circlet of flowers with fluttering butterflies, an icy crown, a tiara with purple feathers, and a beautification filter with sparkles.
