Game bundles are ever popular, and for those of us who want to stay at home during the cold winter and play games, the Indie Royale has kicked off its Winter Bundle. While Indie Royale is like the Humble Bundle, the minimum cost of the Indie Royale bundle is the current average. At the time of writing, the average price of the bundle is $5.22, which roughly translates to a bit less than Rs 300.
The Winter Bundle has Greed Corp, Hamlet, Bit.Trip Runner, Conquest of Elysium 3, Leave Home, and They Breathe. While all the games are playable on Windows, Bit.Trip Runner and Conquest of Elysium 3 can also be played on Mac and Linux computers. Greed Corp and Hamlet require Steam to play.
Indie Royale has also listed the next bundles that will be available in the coming weeks. The Xmas Bundle will be available in 3 weeks, the Replay Bundle volume 1 in 5 weeks, and the Snow Storm Bundle will be available in 7 weeks.
The other major bundle up for sale is the Humble THQ Bundle which was launched at the end of November. The games included in the Humble THQ Bundle are Darksiders, Metro 2033, Red Faction Armageddon, Company of Heroes, Company of Heroes: Opposing Fronts and Company of Heroes: Tales of Valor. While this bundle also follows the Humble Bundle tradition of pay-what-you-want, paying over the average — which is $5.71 as I write this — will also get you Saint's Row The Third. Note that while other Humble Bundles are compatible with various operating systems, the Humble THQ Bundle is Windows-only and you'll require Steam to play.
As of the time of writing, the Humble THQ Bundle has been purchased 654,931 times and has raised $3,657,198.24. The average price of the Humble THQ Bundle is $5.58.
Double Fine also has its own bundle going with the Amnesia Fortnight bundle. The voting for the prototypes of the Amnesia Fortnight Bundle was closed recently and the chosen games are Hack n' Slash, Spacebase DF-9, The White Birch, Autonomous, and Black Lake.
Those who have paid for the Bundle would be getting the five top-voted prototypes, besides the prototypes of Costume Quest and Happy Song. Those who paid something more than the average price, which is $7.22 as I write this, will also be getting a bonus prototype — Brazen. Although the voting has stopped, you can still pay for the bundle and get the eight games. Double Fine is also live-streaming the development process for the prototypes, which started early today on the Amnesia Fortnight Humble Bundle page.
Originally, there were 23 game ideas on the Amnesia Fortnight bundle page, and players could vote on which games would be developed. The top four games from the ideas would become prototypes.
