Amazon is apparently replacing its flagship voice activated smart speaker, the Amazon Echo with a version that sports a touschscreen. Known as the Amazon Echo Knight, low resolution images of the new device first appeared on AFTVnews. The images were apparently pulled from Amazon's own servers, with an algorithm that is used to scan sites for upcoming products. Evan Blass, known for a number of leaks of smartphones and tablets, tweeted out a higher resolution image of the device.

Sporting a 7 inch Touchscreen, the device also has a camera on top of the screen, while the main speakers are located below the screen. According to a report in Recode, Amazon has plans of adding voice call functionality to the Amazon Echo. The Echo Knight seems like an ideal device to support voice call functionality, in which case the device will function like a videophone, in addition to a smart home hub.
According to the leaks by Evan Blass, the device will be available in at least two colours, including white and black. According to a report by Gartner, wireless speakers powered by intelligent assistants are expected to be a $2.1 billion market by 2020.
