Humble Bundle 8 makes $1.3 million in two days

After having launched just yesterday, the Humble Bundle 8 has seen insane popularity. The bundle of indie games has already beenbought 227,216 times at the time of writing. The bundle has made a record $1.3 million in the short amount of time.

The Humble Bundle is a pay-what-you-want affair. After deciding on the appropriate amount for the bundle, you can choose what cut of your payment goes to the developers of the game, what cut goes to the folks at Humble Bundle as a tip and what cut goes to charity. The charities funded through this are Child's Play and the Electronic Frontier Foundation.

Maybe in 5 days, it'll make $6 million

The bundle has some of the best indie games that were released in recent times. The bundle consists of Little Inferno, Awesomenauts, Capsized, Thomas Was Alone and Dear Esther. As usual, the folks over at Humble Bundle have made a video about the bundle.

As is usual for the Humble Bundle, paying above the average price of the bundle will net you some extra games. This time around, buyers will get Hotline Miami and Proteus for paying above the average, which at the time of writing stands at $5.69 (approximately Rs 318). Most of the games in the Humble Bundle come with their respective soundtracks, in both MP3 and FLAC formats.

While this isn't the first time the Humble Bundle has seen such massive sales figures, for it to do so in such a short amount of time is nothing short of incredible. This speaks not only about the quality of games up for grabs, but also about the willingness of people to pay fair amounts of money for a pay-what-you-want deal.
