Huawei Ascend D Quad expected to launch in July

Huawei as a brand is one that will not easily roll off the tongue when a conversation arises about smartphones. The brand, in the past have stuck to budget level handsets and let some of the bigger brands hog the limelight. All this changed at the Consumer Electronics Show earlier on this year when they revealed the Ascend P1S smartphone which boasted a depth of just 6.8mm making it one of the slimmest handsets around. The brand had no intention of stopping there and at the Mobile World Congress event in Barcelona; they announced a range of smartphones that could easily rival the competition. One of these handsets that was unveiled was the Ascend D Quad and for those looking to get their hands on it, a report by GSMArena through have stated that this smartphone will be available for purchase by the third quarter of 2012.

The reports have stated that that production of the Ascend D Quad will start only by June and hence hit shelves by early July. The report states, “When Huawei announced its Ascent D quad new flagship at the MWC, the Chinese company said it will be arriving at the market in either Q2 or Q3. Well we now got more specific information and sadly we'll have to wait until the third quarter of the year to see the quad-core beast in flesh.”

By the time the Ascend D Quad will be available for purchase, the brand's competition from the likes of HTC and Samsung should also have their quad-core monsters available in the market. One can hope that the Ascend D Quad is attractively priced to help withstand the competition from the HTC One X and the Samsung Galaxy S III. Regarding availability of the handset no word is yet available but the handset is expected to be introduced worldwide and not only in certain pockets of the globe.

Lets us know your reactions on the Huawei Ascend D Quad and its quad-core features. Do you think it will make an impact if it is priced aggressively or will its competitors have the last laugh.
