HTC U Ultra and Desire 10 Pro get huge price cuts; now available at Rs 52,990 and Rs 23,990

HTC does not seem to be in the limelight lately. Their smartphones are usually overpriced for the hardware on offer and even their latest flagship was the case of 'too little too late'. According to an offline retailer, HTC is trying to remedy its problem by dropping the price tags of its flagship HTC U Ultra and its mid-range offering the Desire 10 Pro, which should give each a fair chance against the cutthroat Chinese competition.

According to retailer Mahesh Telecom, HTC has cut down on the price tags of its best offerings to date, the HTC U Ultra and the Desire 10 Pro by large margin. The HTC U Ultra which was launched at Rs 59,990 has got a Rs 7,000 price cut and can now be purchased offline at Rs 52,990.

The Taiwanese smartphone brand's mid-range offering, the Desire 10 Pro has received a Rs 2,500 price cut and will now be available offline at Rs 23,990 instead of Rs 26,490.

The HTC U Ultra packs in dual displays on the front with the main one featuring QHD resolution while the second unit features a 2-inch screen sporting a resolution of 160 x 1040 pixels. Inside, owners get a Qualcomm Snapdragon 821, 4 GB RAM 64 GB / 128 GB storage with a 12 MP primary camera.

The HTC Desire 10 Pro follows a design of the Desire 10 Lifestyle. Owners get a sleek finish with golden accents. It features a 5.5-inch Full HD (1920 × 1080 pixels) IPS LCD display which translates to a pixel density of 400 ppi along with Gorilla Glass. On the inside you get a 1.8 GHz octa-core MediaTek Helio P10 processor that powers the device paired with 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB of inbuilt storage. The rear camera features a 20 MP unit with a BSI sensor, laser AF with an  f/2.2 aperture.
