After news dropped of Apple supposedly killing off the Home button in their iDevices in favour of multi-touch gestures, HTC it seems wants to jump on the buttonless bandwagon as well.
An Image for a unnamed HTC phone was found buried deep within HTC’s Sync software which was updated a few days ago. The picture shows a device which looks very similar to the Desire HD right down to the earpiece. What’s missing is the buttons at the bottom of the screen. While the picture could be an error by HTC or just be a placeholder image for un-announced phone. The other rumoured possibility is that the phone may run on Android 3.0 as Honeycomb does away with the need for physical keys.
As of now, you can take this rumour with a grain of salt. But don’t be shocked if such a device shows up in the wild within the next few weeks.
