HTC slashes price of U Play in India by Rs 10,000, now available on Amazon at Rs 29,990

HTC India has just announced a price cut for its newly announced HTC U Play smartphone. The handset was launched at Rs 39,990 but is now slashed down to Rs. 29,990 exclusively on Amazon India.

The HTC U Play was announced with the HTC U Ultra in February. The handset is available with zero cost EMI offer for a limited period and Amazon is also offering up to Rs 2,300 Amazon Pay cashback on purchasing under credit card EMI, and one year insurance coverage for accidental and liquid damages by Cover Plus for free.

The smartphone sports a 5.2-inch Full-HD (1920 x 1080 pixels) Super LCD display with Gorilla Glass. On the inside there is an octa-core MediaTek Helio P10 SoC. While the handset was announced in 3 GB and 4 GB variants, the Taiwan based smartphone maker launched the latter version with 64 GB on inbuilt storage which can be expanded further using a mircoSD card.

In the camera department the HTC U Play features a 16 MP rear camera with a BSI sensor, optical image stabilisation, PDAF, an f/2.0 aperture, and dual-tone LED flash. The front camera is again a 16 MP sensor with an UltraPixel mode, a BSI sensor, an f/2.0 aperture with a 28 mm wide-angle lens.

Connectivity options include 4G LTE with VoLTE, GPS/ A-GPS, Bluetooth 4.2, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, NFC, DLNA, Miracast a USB Type-C. It also features a fingerprint sensor embedded in the home button. There is a rather small, 2,500 mAh battery with fast charging support.
