After official case images of the Rezound showed up, HTC finally announced the phone as the company’s new Android flagship device. As reported by GSMArena, this new phone will run on Gingerbread with Sense 3.5, like we saw on the Explorer and HTC has mentioned that the phone will get Android 4.0 in early 2012.
HTC's new flagship phone, the Rezound
Like the Galaxy Nexus, the Rezound will have a 720p screen and will be powered by a 1.5GHz dual-core processor. There’s 1GB of RAM and HTC has bundled in a good amount of storage with 16GB in-built along with a 16GB memory card. The phone will have LTE support as well.
Here are the specifications of the Rezound:
- 4.3-inch capacitive touchscreen with a 1280 x 720 pixel resolution
- 3G, EDGE/GPRS, Wi-Fi
- GPS, Bluetooth
- 8 Megapixel camera with dual LED flash, 1080p video recording
- 16GB inbuilt storage, comes with 16GB memory card
- 3.5 mm handsfree socket
Pricing and availability for India hasn’t been disclosed, yet, but we’ll keep you in the loop, as soon as we get some news on that. The one thing that we’re hoping the Rezound will impress with is the music quality. Users have more or less complained about the music quality via the supplied headphones and since the Rezound will come with Beats headphones, there’s definitely some hope.
