Taiwanese smartphone maker HTC was expected to announce its budget smartphone offering, the Desire 12, at the recently concluded Mobile World Congress in Barcelona. Though the company has decided to push the launch date further, a new leak has revealed a lot about the new phone.
The HTC Desire 12 is now expected to come alongside a larger and more powerful sibling in the form of the HTC Desire 12 Plus, codenamed 'Breeze Plus".
According to a report by Android Headlines, both the smartphones will come with an 18:9 display, with the Desire 12 Plus now featuring a 5.99-inch 18:9 LCD display with a resolution of 1440 x 720 pixels. As far as dimensions go, the Desire 12 Plus is said to measure 158.2 x 76.5 x 8.4 mm and weigh at around 155 grams.
In terms of internals, the Desire 12 is expected to feature a MediaTek chipset, while the Desire 12 Plus will come with a more powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon 450 SoC. The Desire 12 Plus is also expected to feature 3 GB of RAM and 32 GB of internal storage, while also packing a 2,965 mAh battery with Qualcomm Quick Charge 3.0 support.
As far as the camera specifications are concerned, the Desire 12 Plus will also feature a 13-megapixel rear camera and an 8-megapixel front camera, which will be an upgrade over the camera setup found on the regular Desire 12.
We don't have a release date yet but the HTC Desire 12 is expected to launch sometime in the second quarter of the year, bearing an aggressive price tag to keep up with the competition.
