Back at the Mobile World Congress in February, HTC announced two social networking (Facebook, to be more specific) themed phones and said they would be launched sometime in Q2 2011. No other details were given at the time, but now it seems that the release dates are indeed drawing closer.
An event on HTC Dach’s German Facebook page invites people to celebrate the release of the HTC ChaCha. The event is scheduled to be held at Munich, Wien and Zurich (Germany, Austria and Switzerland for those of us who are really geographically-challenged) on June 18 for Germany and July 16 for Switzerland.
Here are the specs:
- 600MHz Processor
- Google Android 2.4 Gingerbread (what the-) with HTC Sense UI
- QWERTY Keypad with Dedicated Facebook Button
- 3G, Wi-Fi, A-GPS
- Bluetooth 3.0 with A2DP
- 5 Megapixel camera with autofocus and LED flash
- VGA front facing camera
- Memory expandable up to 32 GB
With HTC’s proven track record of getting phones to India soon after the global release, it could very well be that the ChaCha makes it to India soon as well. Here’s hoping.
