The HTC 8X has been one of the most highly awaited handsets in the recent past. The reason for this is that it is one of the first smartphones in the world to run on the Windows Phone 8 operating system. It is up for grabs online at a price of Rs 34,149.
Currently, the handset is available through online retailer Saholic.com with a 15 percent discount on its MRP of Rs 39,999. The final price comes to Rs 34,149. Along with the discount, the website is offering free home delivery within three business days. The handset comes with a 12-month manufacturer’s warranty along with a bill.
The handset was also available at the online retail website Snapdeal.com. At the time of writing, it was sold out. The handset costs Rs 35,000 on Snapdeal. As with Saholic, the handset will be shipped free within four business days of placing an order for it.
Currently available online and later on in stores
Apart from these online retailers, the handset is also up for grabs through the HTC Concept Store in New Delhi.
Currently, the handset is not available through any other retailers or resellers but the HTC 8X will be in the near future. On being contacted, HTC did not provide us a definite time frame about its availability in other stores, but it states that it should be available before the end of the month.
Earlier this month, at a regional launch in Singapore, HTC announced the pricing of its flagship Windows Phone 8 smartphone, the HTC 8X and stated that the handset will be up for purchase this month. The HTC 8X features the new Windows Phone 8 operating system and Beats Audio.
Speaking at the announcement of the brand’s first Windows Phone 8 handsets, the HTC 8X and 8S, Faisal Siddiqui, Country Head, HTC India, said, “Windows Phone has clearly emerged as one of the top mobile ecosystems and is competitive against any other smartphone platform in the world. We are confident that the iconic design and incredible innovation of the Windows Phone 8X and Windows Phone 8S by HTC will help consumers fully realize the potential and lifestyle benefits offered by these smartphones.”
At the announcement, HTC stated that it created the Windows Phone 8X to blend the virtual and the physical, utilising a three dimensional, pure uni-body design based on the Windows Phone Live Tiles. The HTC 8X has a tapering body, which makes the handset look and feel thin. The handset is available in colours such as California Blue and Graphite Black in a matte finish.
