HP’s sudden decision to can their mobile and tablet production line came as huge shock in the technology space. On the bright side though, their TouchPad saw record breaking sales in the last couple of days when entire stocks were wiped clean in a matter of hours in large retail chains like Best Buy in the US. Furthermore, HP has also decided to pull out from the consumer market which would include desktop PCs and the lot. Despite all this breaking news, the California company announced a brand new all-in-one PC targeted at their new audience, the corporate and public sectors.
A new beginning
The new PC is called the Compaq 8200 Elite, which features a 23-inch Full HD LED-backlit display and is powered by Intel’s Sandy Bridge processor. Memory support is up to 8GB and you have an option between a regular hard drive or an SSD. For sound, we have SRS enhancements along with TPM 1.2 hardware encryption for security. The all-in-one will go on sale from today for $999, which is the base price.
