Some revolutionary tech was revealed at this years CES particularly concerning fingerprint authentication on smartphones. Chinese smartphone maker Vivo showcased the worlds first under-the-display fingerprint sensor at the event on its Vivo X20 Plus UD .
A teardown of the phone has been spotted by GizmoChina and if you wanted to see what kind of hardware this phone has, here’s your chance.
The report claims that screwdrivers, pry tool, suction cup and some other tools are needed to dismantle the sensor.
The suction cup and pry is used to take out the display panel under which this under-the-display sensor, made by Synaptics, is found. All the major components seem to be attached only to the display panel and the rear part of the phone can be unscrewed using a hexagonal screwdriver.
The report says that the phone’s internals and motherboard are protected by a graphite layer and the phone seems to have a good internal design. For more photos, you can visit the source here .
The device features a metal unibody with a rounded metal back and a Full View display on the front, that stretches from edge to edge, delivering an 18:9 display ratio. The 6.43-inch FHD+ Super AMOLED display sits under a 2.5D curved edge glass screen and adds to the premium look.
Inside, the Vivo X20 Plus UD, there’s a Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 chipset paired with 4 GB RAM and 64 GB/128 GB internal storage. It runs Android Nougat 7.1.1, is powered by a 3,800 mAh battery and the device is priced at CNY 3,998, which is approximately Rs 39,803.
