With
**Apple** having launched its flagship
**iPhone X** and Samsung its Galaxy Note 8, all eyes are now focussed on Google who are expected to launch the
**Pixel 2** and
**Pixel 2 XL** soon. From what we already know, both devices will have separate makers. [caption id=“attachment_4042625” align=“alignleft” width=“380”] Google Pixel XL. Image: Google.[/caption] While the Google Pixel 2 will be made by Taiwanese giant
**HTC** , the larger pixel XL 2 will be made by LG. A report by Droid Life now points out that the
**LG** made Pixel XL 2 showed up at the FCC for certification. This does not give us more information about the device, however, it does assure us that the Pixel 2 XL is ready to hit retail shelves soon. As the report states, the FCC is one of the final stops for the device in its cycle towards hitting production. The HTC made smaller Pixel 2 had already made it through the
**FCC** certification process in mid-August, stating that both devices are not too far from being launched. According to the report LG tried to conceal the information to the best of their ability but the FCC ID (ZNFGO11C) turned out to be a giveaway eventually, being close to the ‘GO11A’ model number revealed by HTC earlier. A
**report** earlier stated that the launch could most likely happen on 4 October, after an image of a Google billboard in Boston revealed the caption, ‘Ask more of your phone’ with ‘Oct. 4’ written below it.
While an FCC certification does not give us more peeks into the device, it does assure us that the Pixel 2 XL is ready to hit retail shelves soon.
