Gameloft has announced that the iOS version of its racing game – Asphalt 7: Heat – is available for free for today. Though the company hasn’t revealed the reason for the sale, this is still a great chance for users to get one of the better racing games out there; the game is available on the iTunes App Store. Be careful though, it’s a hefty 1.25GB download.
Asphalt 7: Heat is compatible with all iPhones since the 3GS, all iPods since the third generation and every iPad. It requires iOS version 4.3 or later to run. It also has been optimised for the iPhone 5, so there won’t be any letterboxing when you play the game.
iOS users can grab it for free for a limited time!
Back in December, Gameloft had released an update to the racing game. The update added some new events and new cars. Unlike the more incremental updates in the past, this update requires you to re-download the game.
The update is available through the standard channels depending on your operating system and is free. It adds new special events with two Nissan challenges. There is also a new limited-time Nissan track that goes through the city of Tokyo. The update adds two new cars by Nissan—the Juke Nismo and the Juke-R.
Asphalt 7: Heat was released for Android back in August. The game was available for iOS devices from the second half of June. One of the most anticipated racing games of 2012, Asphalt 7: Heat recently maneuvered its way on to the iTunes App Store. Building on the huge success of Asphalt 6: Adrenaline, this game comes with 60 different cars from the world’s best manufacturers such as Ferrari, Lamborghini and Aston Martin. Like in most racing games available, the cars you own can be modified visually and internally. This can help in unlocking various goals that are within the game. Apart from this, by adding various modifications to the cars, you can avail of features such as Nitro boosts and various other ways to win a race.
Gameloft has taken several measures to improve the multiplayer gameplay as well, giving you the option to race against five of your friends locally using Wi-Fi or a data connection. Apart from this, you can find new online opponents with the matchmaking system. This game also features special events that pit a user against players from across the world. This game is available in six different game modes that span across 15 leagues and 150 different races.
