We’d reported earlier about Fujitsu’s new strategy of taking their smartphones global. Now, we’ve got some juicy news about their upcoming smartphone. Fujitsu has announced that it will showcase sample units and demonstrate its new ultra-high-spec smartphone at Fujitsu's booth at Mobile World Congress 2012, to be held from February 27 to March 1, 2012 in Barcelona, Spain.
According to the company, the new smartphone - boasts a quad-core CPU and features a powerful battery, and was designed in response to the spread of LTE, WiMAX, and other high-speed communications networks. This model's development is intended to address the increasingly heavy data loads that mobile devices are required to handle, so that users can view content at speeds comparable to that of video game consoles.
We are keeping a close eye Fujitsu
Now, the important part. Here’s what the revealed spec sheet for this upcoming smartphone looks like:
- 4.6 inches display
- NVIDIA Tegra 3 (Maximum 1.5Ghz Quad Core + Companion Core(1)) + 12GPU
- 13.1 megapixel rear camera
- Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich)
- Water-resistant and dust-resistant
- Equipped with fingerprint sensor
As far as their strategy is concerned, the company mentioned that they wanted to emulate the success of the Raku-Raku (easy-to-use) mobile phone series, which recently broke past a milestone of 20 million units sold in Japan. Fujitsu has been focusing on developing a portfolio of unique universal design technologies that make smartphones easier to view, easier to hear, and easier to use when speaking. The company has also brought to bear its industry-leading water-resistant capabilities.
As far as Tegra 3 is concerned, here’s what the company has planned. As a result of the spread of LTE, WiMAX and other high-speed communications networks, along with the accompanying increase in data-heavy content, Fujitsu aims to understand the customer demands for products that feature both fast processing performance and long battery life. To meet these needs, they’ve developed this Tegra 3-based smartphone with a powerful battery.
Back to the smartphone, the spec sheet looks just too good to us. Tegra 3 quad-core, rugged smartphone and a freaking super awesome 13.1 megapixel sensor! Fujitsu is sure taking this new strategy of giving their smartphones global exposure, very seriously. MWC is just around the corner and we’re hoping to get a glimpse of this already-a-super-awesome-phone, soon enough.
