It’s been nearly five years since America’s most dysfunctional family made a video game appearance and now they’re back in a Free to Play avatar according to Gamasutra. It seems EA is prepping a mobile game called The Simpsons: Tapped Out for the iPhones and the iPad with an Android release planned later down the line.
Simpsons fans rejoice
All the talent from the show will be reprising their roles in this game and like previous Simpsons games, this one will learn towards the action genre as well. It seems Homer has accidentally decimated Springfield by triggering a nuclear explosion and now he must look to his family to rebuild their home town. The base game will be free to play but EA will be charging players for certain items that will help them progress faster.
This is EA’s second foray into what they like to call “freemium mobile content”, the first being a Sims game that was released a while back on iTunes.
