Foursquare adds filters to help you discover places better

Foursquare has added some great new filters for its website to make finding a perfect spot for a brunch or a date easier for you. The feature, which is already available on the website, will slowly be coming to the Foursquare app on your phones too.

You can now look out for places to go to using multiple filters. You could choose to see a list of places based on their prices, places that are open currently, places your friends have been to, places you haven’t been to and places you’ve saved in your list.

This feature can be very useful especially if you’re in a new location and wish to grab a quick bite. The really interesting filters here are “Saved” and “Specials”. The latter filter will help you find establishments that currently have deals on their products and services, helping you save some money. Saved, on the other hand, will let you see places you’ve always been interested in and if they’re in your vicinity.

Foursquare says that you can personalise these recommendations further, but you will need to log in or sign up on Foursquare to make use of these. You can see a list of places you’ve never been to, places your friends have been to and more.

Foursquare says that “more options” will be coming soon, but it hasn’t given a time period yet. It could be fun to see Foursquare giving a tough competition to other food-only applications that help you find places filtered by area, price and open now. To find yourself a place to go to right away, head on to and fix up a plan for lunch.
