First press renders of the Microsoft Surface Pro leak, expected to launch next week in China

If you have been eagerly waiting for a Surface Pro 4 successor, we have some good news and some bad news. The good news is that one of the first legit leaked images of the device has appeared.

Thanks to @evleaks, we have a first look at what is said to be the Microsoft Surface Pro. It is the successor to the Surface 4 Pro, but will not carry an update number. The premium Windows 10 tablet is expected to go official at a special event in Shanghai on 23 May, which is just four days away.

Now for the bad part. The new Surface laptop will be a minor update or better, a refresh. As you can see from the pictures, the design of the tablet is pretty much the same as the last version. Which means that the prominent changes will be internal. This is similar to Apple's 'tick-tock' strategy wherein it redesigns its product every two years but gets a refresh in the consecutive year.

There is some consolation though as we can see some new colors for the Surface keyboard as well as the Surface pen matching the range that was launched on the Surface Laptop.
