European launch of HTC First to be delayed

All the pre-orders pertaining to HTC’s new Facebook centric smartphone, HTC First, will be refunded in the coming days as the Taiwanese manufacturer of smartphones and tablets has decided to delay the launch of the same in the UK and France indefinitely.

This move has come in the light of an effort to improve the device's software before entering another market. It is believed that the process will take few months as the new date for the launch is not yet declared.

This decision has come in following the complaints about lack of security privacy for using the newly-launched app Facebook Home and the developer is expected to add some new customisation features to it.

In April 2012, Facebook had announced its partnership with HTC to produce a Facebook centric phone which was first launched in the US in April 2013 and was on sale exclusively through AT&T. But, unfortunately the phone failed to capture any market there.

The phone comes with an 4.3 inch (720X1280) multi touch screen, a 1.4 GHz dual-core Krait processor which is  backed by a 1GB RAM and has an internal memory of 16GB. The phone runs on Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean)  and has a 5MP camera capable of shooting 1080p videos at 30fps.

A Facebook spokeswoman said that the team was focusing on adding customisation features that address the feedback received and the process might take few months.
