Day 7 of the Game4u 12 days of Christmas has started, and the game up for sale today is 2011's stellar first person RPG—Deus Ex: Human Revolution. The price for Deus Ex: Human Revolution has come down from Rs 499 to Rs 199, after a 60 percent discount.
Deus Ex: Human Revolution was released in 2011 as a prequel to the original Deus Ex. The game takes place during the relative start of the era of human augmentation. Apart from giving great stealth and action gameplay, Human Revolution was applauded for the multiple routes through levels that it allowed. While it was applauded for all these things, the game did catch a lot of flak for having bad boss fights. Where the original Deus Ex was famous for letting you handle any situation—including boss fights—however you wanted, Human Revolution's boss fight could only be fought like a typical FPS game. On the seventh day of Christmas...
Day six of the sale brought us Dragon Age II at a discount of 50 percent, which brought its price down from Rs 999 to Rs 499.
BioWare II took a different approach to telling the dark fantasy story than the first game. Instead of focussing on the bigger issues at hand, the game put you in the shoes of a human protagonist and had you deal with smaller problems, like something as simple as getting your family to safety in the wake of the war against the Darkspawn. Dragon Age II was also notable for introducing the Mass Effect style conversation interface, as opposed to the more old school 'list of dialogues' approach of the first game. The game on sale before that was Crysis 2. Developed by Crytek, the game was a sequel to what was widely considered to be one of the prettiest tech demos to ever come out. Crysis 2 saw a major change from the tropical island setting of the first game to a more urban setting. It also had a more fleshed out story than the previous game, and was widely considered to be not as good at graphical fidelity as the first game. Read our review of Crysis 2 here.
Before that, Tropico 3 was the game up for sale. In Tropico 3, you play as 'El Presidente' of an island somewhere in the Carribbean. The Cold War is in full swing and you have to manage and, hopefully, develop the island. This can be done through regular means, or if you're really evil, through a dictatorship. You can also ally yourself with either the capitalists in the West, or the communists in the East. This is a difficult decision, as allying with one or the other blocks out the options for laws you can pass. Tropico 3 is known for its tongue-in-cheek humour and parody of the otherwise serious Cold War.
