Dell has launched its new range of XPS systems in India - the 2-in-1 Dell XPS 12 and the revamped XPS 13 laptop. Both made an appearance at CES 2016 earlier this year.
At the India launch of its new products, Alen Jose, Product Marketing Director, Consumer and Small Business, Dell India, commented, “The XPS brand has always been committed to delivering superior design along with performance to the consumer. After receiving tremendous accolades for the XPS 13 at CES 2015, we have enhanced the XPS portfolio, making the laptop incomparable with any other in the segment. Our vision to design the best 2-in-1 in the world has led to the XPS 12 2-in-1 winning the Innovation award at CES 2016 which is a testimony to the innovation taking place at Dell.”.
The Dell XPS 12 was indeed tagged as a Microsoft Surface look-a-like at CES 2016, but had a couple of pluses in the form of a beautiful 4K, edge-to-edge display that made the Surface look outdated. The panel uses IPS technology and sports a 170 degree viewing angle. It also features Corning's Gorilla Glass NBT screen for protection. The device features a detachable "mobility base" and a backlit keyboard.
Inside, we get a sixth generation Intel Core M5 processor, 8GB RAM and a 256GB SSD powering the 4K 12-inch display. Dell has priced the XPS 12 at a rather steep Rs 1,24,990. The other configuration includes an Intel Core M7 processor, 8GB RAM and a 512GB SSD. Both 2-in-1s can only be purchased from dell.co.in.
Coming to the remake of the all-rounder, the Dell XPS 13, it sports an Infinity Edge Display with FHD resolution but packs in plenty of punch with a sixth generation Intel Core processor. The 13-inch ultrabook comes with a variety of options, maxing out at 256GB SSD and 8GB of RAM and upto three Thunderbolt ports.
The XPS 13 laptops are priced starting at Rs 76,990 for the base model but you can shell out up to Rs 1,34,000 for the model with the Core i7, 8GB of RAM and a QHD+ (3200 x 1800) InfinityEdge touch display.
