Dell’s Venue was seen on their Indian website in December and then we saw some specs and images leak of the Venue Pro. Lo and behold, both smartphones have now officially touched Indian shores. Let’s take both smartphones under a microscope.
Dell Venue runs on Android 2.2 Froyo and has a customized Dell Stage UI on top. While the Adreno 200 GPU powers the graphics, the smartphone itself is powered by a 1 GHz Scorpion processor. With Gorilla Glass protection for the display, the Venue will withstand a few falls. Here are some more specs of Venue:
- 4.1-inch AMOLED Capacitive Touchscreen
- Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g, HSDPA, HSUPA, A-GPS
- Bluetooth with A2DP and EDR
- 8 Megapixel Camera with autofocus and LED Flash

- 3.5mm audio jack
Including the above specs, Dell’s Venue also boasts of an Accelerometer, a Digital Compass and a Proximity Sensor. The smartphone supports Adobe Flash 10.1 and has Social Network integration as well. Like most Android smartphones, the Venue also supports Google’s custom apps Google Search, Maps and Gmail. The Venue’s camera can record at 720p and features Geo-tagging and face detection.
Dell Venue will set you back by Rs. 29,990 and is available at all retail outlets.
Most specs of the Dell Venue are shared with the Dell Venue Pro. The only difference being that the Dell Venue Pro runs Windows Phone 7 and features a QWERTY keypad. Plus the camera is a 5 Megapixel snapper and the phone comes in 8 GB and 16 GB versions.
Dell Venue Pro is priced at Rs. 34,990 and is also available at most mobile phone stores. So it looks like one amongst our five most expected upcoming Android smartphones have come to India after all. One down, four to go!
